I recently bought an iPad and have been experimenting with different ways to use the iPad for this purpose. It seems like there are dozens of ways to do this. Just check the App Store or google “PowerPoint iPad” and you will find many possible solutions. I was looking for a solution that was quick and inexpensive. Ever wish you could manage the files on your BlackBerry as easily as you do on your computer? Look no further – BeamExplorer is a free file management solution that offers convenient and intuitive access to the content on your BlackBerry (http://tinyurl.com/ybruq6y). I stumbled across this great little utility when I became frustrated with not being able to find files saved on my BlackBerry. Unfortunately, there is no BlackBerry equivalent to Windows Explorer. BeamExplorer is easy to download and install and very straightforward to use. It works much like Windows Explorer and includes features such as multiple file selection (Shift + scroll the trackball to select contiguous files; Alt + press trackball to select multiple individual files which are not contiguous).
Scanning Solution for the Mobile Lawyer – Neat!Monday, March 1st, 2010As a wills and estates lawyer, I often meet with elderly or hospitalized clients in their residence or hospital room. When I meet clients at my office, it is a simple matter to use our office equipment to scan documents such as deeds, birth certificates, financial statements, and insurance policies which we ask clients to bring. However, when visiting clients outside of the office I have to ask if the client will allow me to take documents away for scanning at the office — not something that either I or the client really want to happen.
